Meter Reading Monday – 23rd December 2013

Hey Guys,

Here we are, Christmas week.

I normally have a quiet Christmas and have done for around 3 years now since most of my family moved back to Australia where my mum was born, but I don’t feel lonely. If you know me away from this blog you will know I am more than happy with a good DVD box set and a endless supply of tea!

Let’s crack on…

Water (Yorkshire Water)

Today’s reading is 00023.118. This means I have used 0.551 units of water. But as the main units have now moved from 00022 to 00023 I have had to make a £3 payment for that 1 unit.

Gas, (Scottish Power)

Gas is still not being used, with a reading of 3449 again, this weeks bill is £0.

While I do not use any gas I do pay £5 a month via Direct Debit. Then every bill I get a few pennies of credit for paying via Direct Debit. I understand it does not make me much money. The point is, I am making money FROM energy companies and that leaves me feeling very happy indeed!

 Scottish Power

As you can see my Gas Account is currently £10.17 in credit (£10 of my payments & £0.17 free credit, I am also due a bill this month, this does not show on the account at the moment as the bill is in the middle of getting produced.)

Electricity,

  • Rate 1 this week is 00429, Means I have used 25 units at £0.1994 a unit = £4.98. (excluding VAT)
  • Rate 2 this week is 00106, Means I have used 5 units at £0.0768 a unit = £0.38. (excluding VAT)

This means this weeks electric total including VAT £5.63

Just think, a few weeks ago my weekly electricity bill was £1.06 and now we are hitting nearly £6, it is totally shocking how much juice the fridge/freezer is using. Thank god it will be off again come Thursday, then I can have lower bills again.
