Good news, from next year all our water bills will be coming down! When this news came out last week the first thing I did was tweet Yorkshire Water and after a bit of persistence I found that out our bills will be coming down by 3%, again, this means nothing to me being such a low user. In the end I asked him if the unit rate or standing charge will be coming down and finally got the news I wanted from him:
We are proposing water meter standing charges reductions but await formal approval from Ofwat in February.
So while we do need to wait till between February 2015 and March 2015 when we get our bills this can only be a good thing.
Anyhow, let’s crack on with this weeks readings…
Weekly Standing Charge – £2
Units: This week my water meter reading is 00042.760, means I have used 0.224 these last 7 days, just under my weekly 0.250 target so it’s all good!
Gas meter this week is 3449 and as always, a £0 bill.
Reading this week is 00041, Means I used 8 units @ £0.1591 per unit = £1.33 (including VAT)
As normal I have rounded the £1.33 up to £1.50 so my SSE Account can climb into credit.
This is the 2nd week in a row I’ve used 8 units, while I am a little upset I have to remember that £1.33 for a week of electricity is very very low, it just feels high to me due to my goal of £1 per week.
Till next time,
