This week we passed my 1 year anniversary for living without any gas at all. On the 7th February 2013 I started living without any mains gas, that means no hot water or heating for the last 12 months.
I should have been ending this lifestyle this week as the plan WAS just to do it for 12 months, but I have enjoyed it so much I am carrying it on for at least the next 12 months.
Also a little sad news this week… I have been doing a market research assignment and as such my water and electricity has gone thought the roof! While I can’t talk about what I have been doing regarding water and electricity I think you can work it out 🙁
Anyway, let’s crack on.
Water (Yorkshire Water),
This weeks reading is 00025.830, means I have used a massive 0.839…..that’s around three quarters of a unit in one week. Also as I have now hit 00025 main units I do need to make a £3.00 payment.
I also need to fix a small mistake I made last week. Last Monday was the first Meter Reading Monday of February and as such I needed to make a £7.00 payment for this months standing charges. I forget this, but I have now made the £7.00 payment so we are bang up to date again.
Gas (Scottish Power)
For the 52nd week running we have a reading of 3449 and a £0 gas bill.
- Rate 1 this week is 00495. This means I have used a massive 11 units @ £0.1994 per unit = £2.19 (excluding VAT).
- Rate 2 this week is 00125, This means I have used only 1 unit @ £0.0768 per unit = £0.0768 (excluding VAT).
Total this week including VAT = £2.38
So yep, this week has been very high, but next week I will be working very hard to try and hit £1 for my electricity bill. Not sure how close I will be, but let’s give it a go eh? 🙂
