During sorting my morning post out this morning, I had my new council tax bill for the new year starting in April. I had been spending the last few weeks sorting my budget out for the next year and had finished it. As I already pay £20 per month for my council tax I was expecting it to stay the same. But no, they wanted £790.30 in April, then £20 per month for rest of the year.
There was no way I was going to do that. After tweeting the CEO of our council, making a few phone calls and a few private messages I have got it sorted.
For April they would like £8.90 and for the next 11 month they want £33 per month and will wipe the rest off. I know it means an extra £13 per month, but I’m happy with that. It’s better than paying an extra £790. All I need now is to re-work this next years budget.
