Let’s talk about water first:
Before February 2013: £35 per month. After February 2013: £10-13 per month. Goal: £5 per month.
To recap: I was using £2 of water a month, but getting hit with £8-£10 of fees/charges etc. I was not happy about this and requested to cut me off from mains water and i would use the free bottled water I get from a friend of mine to top-up my loo and kettle etc.
At first they refused, but after making a fuss and getting a few managers on my side the plan was to come into my cellar, turn off my water at the main stop-cock tap and put a sealed lock on it. This would stop me having mains water and they would just bill me £47 a year for sewage.
The good news is I had a call this morning from one of the managers… they have totally froze my account. This means I do not need to pay ANYTHING, even for sewage. They are unable to put a lock on my water. They have requested I turn it off myself in the cellar and just not use it, they said they trust me with this as I have been very open about why I do not want mains water and they have read this blog.
I have been in the cellar this morning and have turned the stop-cock off. This means new monthly bill for water is £0.00!!
Next up gas….
Before February 2013: £25-£35 per month. After February 2013: £0 per month. Goal: £0 per month.
Normal reading of 3449, normal £0.00 bill for this month as I use no gas anymore!
Before February 2013: £27 per month. After February 2013: £22-25 per month. Goal: Under £20 per month.
From 1st May to today, 22nd May, I have used £21.21. This means by the end of the month I would of used around £23 for May.
I am still working really hard to get my electric to under £20 a month and have decided I will stop doing monthly meter reading and will start doing these weekly. Every Monday in the hope to get this last goal on track.
So, all in all things are getting better, gas still £0, water now £0 and just need to work more on electric!!!
Till next time,
