31st May 2016 – My New Diet and Exercise Routine

Hey Guys,

One of the main problems I have in life is definitely my weight. I was a very skinny child, but when I moved out of the family home age 16 to move next door to Tesco, where I worked at the time. The weight just piled on. I was working 6am to 11.00pm and pretty much lived on ready meals.

While last year I found the most perfect diet. It was the Jason Vale juice plan. I lost around 40lbs over a few months, but the problem is you need to wash out the juicer 5-6 times per day, so my water bill was going thought the roof.

I have no problems with exercise, as I have always walked miles in the early hours of the morning, but my main problem has been my anxiety, it stops me going into shops so to get round that I have always done online ordering in bulk, and it is hard to buy fruit and veg in bulk.

But I have found a new system that is actually working for me. I have not really talked about this on Twitter and Facebook because I wanted to get a blog done so I can explain it fully.

Each morning, as soon as I wake up I give Bella a walk of about 2 miles, I like this time of the day as it is so peaceful, I try and do it at around 3.30am before the world wakes up. I then have another 3-4 mile round trip to Sainsburys leaving between 6.15am/6.30am and getting home just before 8am. This means I have managed to walk around 5 miles before it is even 8am, normally by this point I have also hit 10,000 steps on my FitBit too.

Bella and Myself also get a few smaller walks over the space of the day, just really so she can do what she needs to do outside, but we do not go on any long walks as the 5 miles first thing in the morning has already has tired us out for the day.

Eating wise, I have been doing my juices still as I do love juices, but due to the amount of water it takes up to wash the juicer, I have only been having 1 juice per day instead of 5-6 like I had last year.

Around 9.00am I have been having my juice, it is made up of….

  • 3 Large Oranges
  • 2 Medium Carrots
  • ½ A Lemon
  • Bunch of Mint
  • Chunk of Ginger

All of this goes though the juicer, and it is actually really nice. I am not a fan of the Green juices, but this one tastes really nice.

Then around 1.00pm I have been eating a Quorn Ham and Cheese sandwich. On Pitta Bread, Bagel, normal brown bread, all depending on what offer Sainsbury’s has on, plus I also like to put some Little Gem lettuce in this too. Plus I also have a banana or two.

Then at night I will have a full on vegetarian Pizza. My favourite one right now is the Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza Mozzarella, with my 2nd favourite being Sainsbury’s own Thin and Crispy Vegetable with courgette, pepper, spinach, red onion and pesto.

I know this diet is not 100% perfect, but it has been working for me these last few weeks and I have been losing 2-4lbs per week.

I think it is because when we are having our walks and having the juices it is so nice looking forward to ending the day on a Pizza, it is kinda like a daily reward for the 5 mile walks and the juices in the morning.

I am not saying this would work for everyone, I am not saying “Hey, here is a Pizza diet” or anything like that. I am just blogging about what is working for me, and I will do a follow up blog in around 4 weeks on how I am getting on.

Till Next time,
Lee/Newt x
